What’s the secret to generating leads on LinkedIn?
Sending 100 connection requests each week.
Why?
Because the more connections, the greater your network, and the higher your chances of generating leads!
Here are some tips for when you’re sending your network requests:
- Personalize your messages: Stand out from the crowd by crafting a unique, genuine message that shows you've done your research on the connection.
- Be strategic: Focus on your target audience, and engage with professionals who are relevant to your industry or niche.
- Engage with content: Share, comment, and like content from your potential connections to build rapport.
- Follow up: Don't be pushy, but follow up on unanswered requests after a week to remind people of your interest in connecting.
- Offer value: Provide resources, insights, or solutions to their problems - this will make you a valuable connection in their eyes.
Now that you understand how to send connection requests on LinkedIn.
(A huge part of generating leads)
So with that being said…
What is the secret to generating high-quality leads...?
Focusing on the right metrics ✅️
Throughout my professional experience spanning over 12 years, I have observed that sales professionals tend to prioritize the quantity of their daily calls or outreach messages.
However, a shift in our approach towards emphasizing the quality of interactions and engagement could potentially yield better results.
Let's dig deeper!
1. Connect Rate: The percentage of calls where a conversation takes place with your target contact. This focuses on building relationships rather than just ticking off tasks.
2. Positive Engagement Rate: The percentage of leads that show genuine interest in your product/service. Quality interactions lead to potential sales, so ensure each conversation leaves a lasting impression.
3. Meaningful Conversation Ratio: How many meaningful conversations do you have compared to the total number of calls made? To improve this ratio, always be prepared - research your prospect's pain points, tailor your pitch, and add value with every interaction.
The best way to reach your sales goals is by focusing on impactful metrics that drive results.
Change your approach to change your outcomes!
Now that you understand what metrics to track…
How do you actually message prospects?
To help you with this, I’ll be giving you an example scenario to help you with your messaging.
Here it is:
Connection Request Message:
Hi _FN_,
It would be great to connect.
James.
This one is crucial, see below as an example of a SaaS product, if you can create something as powerful around your own offer. The other messages (except 1 other) will just prompt so it needs to be on point.
Message 1 - Four hours after connection:
Hi _FN_,
Thank you for connecting, I would love to get your thoughts on the below.
Imagine if you had a tool that allowed CS to spot churn risk, drive expansion, and deliver on NRR, all while also having unlimited licenses so anyone within the business can now create calculated metrics based on any data.
Does this strike a chord with you? If so, I would be happy to schedule some time to chat?
Regards,
James.
Message 2 - 3 days after connection:
Hi _FN_,
Just bumping this up in your inbox, I hope you don't mind.
Would you be available for a chat this week or early next?
Regards,
James.
Message 3 - Six days after connection:
Hi _FN_,
Is it a bad time? Would it be best to leave it for a few weeks?
Regards,
James.
Hi _FN_,
Let me give you a sneak peek, in case you want some more information before getting back to me.
I have included the link below.
- Link here (video/testimonial etc)
Once you have given it a watch, let me know what you think.
Maybe we could put some time aside for a chat?
Regards,
James.
Message 4 - Ten days after connection:
Hi _FN_,
I don't want to keep pestering you, I know you must be busy.
Have I completely missed the boat here, or are my efforts better spent contacting someone else in the business?
If you could let me know, it would be appreciated.
Regards,
James.
Message 5 - 14 days after connection:
Hi _FN_,
I'm happy to leave this for now.
If you want to explore Planhat in the future, please just let me know.
Regards,
James.
Also, don’t make these 5 mistakes when you’re sending LinkedIn messages:
- Generic greetings
Personalize your messages, use the recipient's name and make them feel valued.
- Copy-pasting a sales pitch
Nobody likes spam. Focus on building genuine connections.
- Ignoring the person's background
Do your research! Understand their industry and use that knowledge to start a conversation.
- Sending long-winded messages
Keep it short and sweet. Be concise and make your point quickly.
- Failing to follow up
Don't be discouraged by a lack of response. Politely follow up to drive consistent results.
Don’t make those 5 mistakes.
Instead, start skyrocketing your lead generation messaging with these 5 tips!
