Before we get going there is some PREP WORK to do, take a look below.
Before you start sending out messages, it is important to consider how you appear to sendees.
First impressions are everything! When someone receives a message from someone unfamiliar, the first thing they do is check out their profile.
If your profile is bland, or worse, uncredible; the chances of getting a reply decrease by a lot.
What to do?
Profile photo:
Choose a high-quality image with good lighting, where your face is in full view. Wearing business attire (although not compulsory) will help you appear professional.
Optimize your background image:
A background image is equally important as your LinkedIn profile picture. Instead of opting for a stock image or landscape skyline image; design your own using free tools such as Canva or Crello.
Highlight your skills and expertise so your profile stands out.
Tag Line:
Instead of only listing your current position; add in your other titles that describe your skills. This will help you appear in search results as well.
Summary:
Your summary is the most important part of your profile. In your summary include why people should trust you OR what makes you stand out from the rest of the crowd. A strong summary with the right keywords will get you noticed.
Recommendations:
Having recommendations on your profile makes you look a lot more credible and reliable. Get past team members to give you recommendations.
